Kevin and our friend Molly both have the same birthday - June 6 so we ditched the kids and went to one of our favorite restaurants - “The Open Door” in sisters. The weather was perfect - a great evening.

With our rogue river trip coming up we wanted to get some more oar time. There is a stretch on the Deschutes with some decent rapids around the Maupin area. PJ came with me to keep company on my boat.
3rd year doing a spring float with a Bible study group that Mark leads through the school year. The raft trip is the capstone before the summer break. This year we did the lower section of the Deschutes from buck hollow all the way to the Columbia River (heritage landing). About 40 miles over the 3-day long weekend. This includes a stretch that none of us have done prior.
We had one mishap with Mark’s boat and he had to do a field repair on the outer shell. Thankfully, it did not puncture the bladder so able to leverage the repair for the remainder of the trip until he can do a more permanent fix.
Abbie captures this one - May 22, 2024
Abbie and Kelly flew to California for Charlotte and Anna’s first communion. They then all drove back to Oregon and stayed for Kelly and Erin’s birthdays.
It was a fast and fun week. They took a trip down to Sunriver and the girls got to go horse back riding. We all drove to Eugene to see Noah run at the Hayward field for the State meet.
So grateful for family and good times. ❤️
Major solar flare eruptions on the sun allowed the the lower 48 to see northern lights may 10, 2024. Hunter, PJ and I got up around 11:30 pm to see them. We heard they peaked around 2 am that night. By the next night they were all gone.
April 29. Skied with PJ today. Is was 24 degrees and dumping. Most definitely not spring skiing!
This past weekend Hunter graduated from his one year program at Montana Wilderness School of the Bible. It’s been a fast 9 months.
Abbie and I flew out to Montana and attended the graduation and then we drove home with Hunter in his rig. He will be home for a couple months getting surgery on his wrist + recovery.
We snapped a couple of cool picks of the windmills and farmland on the north central Oregon plateau on the way home.
Abbie and I are trying to grow some herbs for medicine and tea. We started our seedlings in little seedling greenhouses.
