White Christmas

It's been green since thanksgiving. It's started raining this morning and the immediately turned to snow so we will have a white Christmas this year.

We all got hot drinks and walked around the neighborhood to look at the Christmas lights with the new snow, and then opened the first gift of Christmas!

Thanksgiving 2014 in California

Our family drove down and spend the week of thanks giving in sunny, warm California.   The weather was spectacular which made for some great times at the beach.  We also spend two days at Disneyland and California Adventure.  First time for the boys!  All in all a great week, and nice to spend it with family.

Smith Rock ... with Snow!

Kelly's Grandmother ("GG" to our kids) and her cousin Noah came through town this weekend on their way up to Seattle, where Noah lives with his family.  He wanted to get out and do something, so I thought Smith Rock might be a fun outing given the recent snow.  It was beautiful there today.  We did the hike up and over the top (Misery Ridge), hiked down the other side past the famous Monkey face rock and back along the river trail.  It was a winter wonderland.

Here are a few scenery shots as the sun started filtering through the clouds:

An amazing Pano that I took as we were leaving - very cool lighting
