Rapeseed Fields in Bloom

Kelly and Hunter were up in near London this weekend visiting some friends.  The weather was pleasant today so I took the remaining 3 kids to see up close a very iconic crop  of Britain's agricultural landscape close to our house.  The sun coupled wit some unsettled weather off in the distance gave a neat look to the sky.

Smith Rock Hike

After flying into Bend yesterday (Saturday) evening, with good weather predicted for Sunday a few of us from work decided to get up and hike Smith Rock this morning.  Plus, getting outside in the sun is a good way to reset your internal clock to reduce the effects of jet lag.  It was a spectacular walk over Misery Hill and then back along the river.  First time hiking over the top for me.  Great views of the snowy cascades as well as the famous Monkey Face rock formation.  We also saw a rattle snake on the trail too, which is quite rare.  One of the dogs in our party scared it out of its hiding place in the grass beside the trail.  No bite on the dog thankfully.

Decorative Coffee

Kelly and I had a date night tonight.  Dinner, and a movie.  We had a little time before the show started so grabbed a capuchino at our favorite coffee chain in the UK - Costa Coffee.

Sun after Rain at Dunraven Bay

Our friend Barb and her son Ian are visiting.  Today Kelly took them to Dunraven Bay/Southerndown beach near our house.  In typical welsh fashion they had sun, then got rained on and then the sun came back out.  Kelly took this shot just after the rain stopped on the beach with the tide out.
