Noah wanted to go camping for his 9th birthday. He invited his buddy Blake to come along with us. We went up to East Lake and had a beautiful campsite over looking the lake. The first day was great and we canoed and kayaked and did some exploring. Over night it rained and the next morning we woke up to even more rain and snow. Tent camping when it is wet is never fun. We packed up a day early and headed for home. All in all the kids had fun and it was a great birthday for Noah.
Beginning at age six Kevin presents a gift to the kids as they journey to adulthood. Abbie got her first bible with her name engraved, Hunter got a hatchet with his initials engraved and Noah received a compass. The kids look forward to getting this each year.
Such a fun Bend tradition watching the Bend Pet Parade. Happy 4th of July from the Donaldson Crew!
After paddling at Hosmer lake we headed over to Sparks Lake for dinner and got some nice early evening shots over the lake.
Family paddling on Hosmer lake in the cascades this afternoon.
Hunter, Noah and Abbie are doing Juniper Swim league this summer. It's fun to have the 3 of them doing it together. This morning they swam terrific! It is always so much fun watching them and cheering them on. Abbie was a bit nervous but she did great for her first swim meet.
Starting to look like a house on the inside now! Pictures in order: Front, back, south side, great room, kitchen area, master bedroom, bonus room, stair landing area.
Preston has mastered riding a two wheel bike. No more riding behind mommy and daddy on their bike. He will now be able to join us on his own bike on family bike rides.
After our Todd Lake hike we headed down the road a couple miles to Sparks Lake. A very canoe/kayak/paddle board friendly lake that is too shallow for boats and really isn't a fishing lake. The lack of motors and the views make it a great place to go. Kelly and I did a moonlight canoe trip with friends here a couple summers ago.
Once we got the canoe off the suburban, we hopped in the canoe and went across the lake to have a late picnic lunch on the north shore. We played there for a little while before heading back across.
