Last trip of the summer

Abbie and I headed down to California for a last quick trip before school started. We got to be there for Charlotte’s 10th birthday, which was really special. We also got to see California Baptist University. This is the year we will be looking at colleges for both Noah and Abbie. While we were there, we got to see Bob and Nancy and Colleen who were visiting and also Jamie and WanYe, who are right up the road from CBU. It’s always so fun going home and getting to see family.

Last competition-Las Vegas

What a way to end the season and an era!  What was even sweeter was that Lulu, Auntie Erin and Charlotte got to come.

Abbie’s team wrapped up their final competitive cheer competition in Las Vegas with two first-place wins: one in their level division and another as the top team across all divisions at their level! 🥇🏆 They brought home medals, jackets, and championship rings. Such a proud moment.

This was Abbie’s last season of competitive All-Star cheer, and she’s decided to focus on high school cheer next year. We’re so proud of her dedication, her team spirit, and all the memories made along the way. What a finish!

Irish Dance Weekend in Portland

Abbie had a dance competition in Portland.  Normally Kelly takes Abbie to her competitions but I went this weekend, and we had a great time not only at the competition winning some medals but also doing some explorations.  We were near the Portland airport but instead of heading into the city, we decided to see what was the other direction so went to the little town of Troutdale just east of Portland and then spent the rest of the day at McMennamins Edgefield.
