Today in chapel Noah and Abbie received the award for diligence. We are very proud of their hard work.
As we posted recently our dog (Red) of 15 years passed away. We were not planning to get another pet for a while but recently we found out about a family looking to give away their dog due to expecting a fifth child and not having a lot of outdoor space. The dog is one year old and is a Goldendoodle. The minute we met her we fell in love. Being a Goldendoodle means she will hardly shed if at all which is perfect for cuddling and not getting hair everywhere. Her name was Hutch and after having a boy dog for 15 years calling a girl dog a boy name just didn't feel right. If she is a girl we wanted a girly name. So, we decided that we would rename her keeping Hutch as her middle name. After a few days of not knowing what we should call her we decided she was our Christmas dog and we would call her Holly, or Holly Hutch. Holly loves to follow us from room to room laying wherever she can to get loves and enjoys daily walks exploring her new neighborhood. We love that she is a part of our family and look forward to many years with her. Life is just better with a family dog.

Lights on the house and today is the first Sunday of Advent!
Beautiful Thanksgiving day in Southern California at Auntie Erin's and Uncle Scott's house. Bubble fun in the afternoon before dinner.
Our baby turned 7 today! We can hardly believe he is this old. Time seems to be flying by. This weekend Preston went with his friend in the neighborhood for sweet treats at a bakery and to the dollar store. Today after church Preston wanted to get a hot dog for lunch and then to Mountain Air which is a trampoline park to jump as a family. The day ended with delicious cake and ice cream. Happy birthday PJ! We love our baby big boy!
Today Hunter participated in his first pistol competition! He did really well for his first time and enjoyed it a lot. As expected there is a huge focus on safety and they really work with new shooters to learn good safety practices.

After finishing the new woodshed about a month ago, I have been busy chopping as we get ready for cooler weather. Figure it will hold over 4 cords if full.
Last week our dog Red had his last day at the age of 15. We have had him since he was 8 months old after getting him from the Humane society in Boise Idaho in July 2004. He has been through many adventures with our family.
- He was part of 8 moves to different houses including 2 new builds
- He has been with us living in two states as well as an overseas assignment in Wales, UK
- He was around for all 4 of our children's births and has been a major influence on their love of animals due to his gentle spirit
- He was my climbing buddy to many of Idaho's tallest peaks including a number over 12,000 ft and we continued this with many high regions of Oregon. I can't count the number of nights he slept with me in the back of my pickup truck.
- He swam in every bit of water he could find, no matter what the temperatures
- He never once bit or even so much as growled through years of kids sitting on him, pulling his ears and tails
It was a beautiful day and he had one last time to be in his favorite spot - the water.
