Last year when my dad came to visit at the end of July we took a ride up the scenic chairlift to mid mountain on Mt Bachelor. It was a lot of fun so we decided to do the same with Pat and Sue on their visit this week. It was interesting to see the snow differences year to year. We went about 3 weeks earlier this year, but their is already less snow than when we went up last year.
The weather and snow conditions made for some great glissading with the kids.
Today we headed up to Newberry Crater for the day. On the way up we stopped at Paulina falls and then went on to East Lake where we rented a pontoon boat. Lots of fun toodling around the lake. The kids took turns driving. PJ loved doing 'donuts' in the boat.
We have been coming out in the mornings recently to see a great horned owl swoop off our back porch. Pat was able to capture a picture of our new resident on our neighbors fence! What a beautiful bird... and hopefully he/she cleans up some chipmunks and maybe a rabbit around our place.
A great day starting off with the annual pet parade, followed by swimming, bbq and backyard fire. Thanks to Pat for taking some great photos!
After 10 days away our girl is home! What a fun time she had with LuLu and Papa and all her cousins. We missed her so much and so glad she is back. Our family just isn't the same without her. ❤
Abbie is still in California with lulu and papa so this weekend I took the 3 boys to a rock crawling competition a little east of town put on by the Deschutes county 4x4 association. It was really cool to watch the skills these drivers have!
Kevin along with the beautiful garden he built just put up a pool for our family. Living a little ways out of town and on land makes days at home relaxing. Kevin's next project will be building a fence and deck around the pool. We love our hard working dad!
My grandma turned 96 today. She is the classiest lady I know. She is always positive and joy just radiates from her. I can only hope I can be half the women she is.
