Family outing to the pumpkin patch at Smith Rock Ranch, this year with special guests - Auntie Erin, Grandma Lulu, and cousin Charlotte.
More Pics. Corn Maze - This year it was 'Monsters Inc', Picking pumpkins from the patch, and an early dinner after on the Patio at Worthy Brewing. Note the picture of Hunter and Noah on the pumpkins... here is a picture of them from the same pumpkin patch in 2011!
Today the kids wore their craziest pair of socks to school for spirit week. They sure had fun getting to wear these.
Last night as we were reading with the kids and getting ready for bed we heard Preston yell that he had a Lego stuck up his nose. After several attempts to get it out we had no such luck. We then took him into the ER and they were able to remove it. Preston said he was not sure how it got up there. His brothers and sister were very worried and all wrote him notes while he was away. We hope one day Preston is able to look back and read about this and find it funny.
This week at the kids' school is spirit week and today was crazy hair day. The kids had fun!! We will see what tomorrow brings.
Today we went for a family canoe trip along a very picturesque section of the Deschutes River south of Dillon Falls. Amazing weather and colors.
Tonight Hunter, Noah and I did an intro to welding class at the DIY cave. A new place in Bend that just opened in May. We got to try oxy-acetylene cutting, AC/DC arc welding as well as MIG welding. Lots of fun and great to try things that allow you to use your hands. We will be back for sure.
We just returned from our second annual boys fall camping trip. Last year we canoe camped on Sparks Lake. This year Hunter wanted to do a backpacking trip so I selected Benson Lake as a good starter - a 1.5 mile hike into the lake with wilderness camping. Mileage-wise not a lot, but with packs on it was plenty to get a taste and enjoy the experience. We left home after the boys soccer games on Saturday afternoon. The drive was about 50 minutes from Bend past sisters on hwy 242. We had spectacular weather and it didn't even get very cold at night. The water was so clean and clear we drank right out of the lake. The boys loved it.
